After a distinguished Royal Air Force career including command of two Air Force Bases, a latent desire to write prompted William to complete a biography: ‘The Prince: The Secret Story of the World’s Most Intriguing Royal, Prince Bandar bin Sultan,’ about the enigmatic Saudi Ambassador to the United States. With forewords by Nelson Mandela and Margaret Thatcher, it was published by HarperCollins in October 2006.
The Washington Times wrote of it: ‘highly recommended…the best street-smart assessment of the art of diplomacy…since Henry Kissinger’s famous work on the same subject.’
Bill’s interest in history has seen him focus on building an ever-expanding list of historical talks that he has been delivering to cruise line passengers for almost 3 years. In his role as an author/historian, Bill has also produced a number of articles that will be available to passengers on one the latest luxury cruise liners launching in April 2015 – the magnificent Viking Star – specifically for its e-library. However, Bill will include these on his website shortly.
